Wolf Face
"I have never seen a wolf in a Good Shepherd painting or sculpture, but if there were no wolves, there would be no need for shepherds." John Collier
Detail from:
Christ, the Good Shepherd Monument
Bronze, 30 feet long, 5 feet wide and 8 feet tall. Installed at the Pastoral Center, Catholic Diocese of Greensburg, Pennsylvania. Jesus, holding a lamb, walking His sheep, approaches a wolf. Following behind on this road are three shepherds from the Old Testament: Abel, David and Moses. This piece stands outside the Bishop's offices, and each of the Shepherds holds a shepherd's staff, the crosier, the symbol of the bishop's office.
