WV-Cross-in-Place-Ldscp

Suspended Cross
The Cross serves as a visual focal point for the worship space. It is multifaceted and has no perceived front or back. Letters from various alphabets flow along the suspension cables: Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic and Hebrew. The bronze wreath above represents the Crown of Thorns. St. Francis de Sales Church, Morgantown, West Virginia. Bronze, thirteen feet in height.

Alexander Tylevich, artist; RRTL Architects; James Moudry, Liturgical Consultant; Derix Glass Studio, glass fabricator.

Suspended Art Glass
The amber art glass suggests an emerging cross; it is suspended in the bell tower highlighting the baptismal font area below. Gradation in color from deep gold to light amber; lines sandblasted; installed at St. Francis de Sales Church, Morgantown, West Virginia. Twelve feet in height.

Designed by Alexander Tylevich, fabricated by Derix Glass Studio.
