John Giuliani

151H Guatemalan Adoration

John Giuliani was commissioned by Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut to create this“Adoration” honoring the native Guatemalan people by portraying the Madonna and Child in their ethnic look and rich colorful dress.  The attendants parallel Sacred Heart's aspiring nurses who benefit from the rewarding experience of traveling to the Valle de Ponchoy in Guatemala to provide free medical services to people in need.  The musicians depicted in the painting celebrate the event in strings and song.

It is John’s mission to honor Native Americans, north, central and south.  In this painting he has celebrated the birth of the Christ child, the native Guatemalan people and Sacred Heart’s community service all at once.
